Artificial intelligence (AI)-embedded systems have become game changers for environmental monitoring. They enable advanced real-time data analysis, forecasting, and decision-making. AI and its methods and technologies that are embedded with the Internet of Things (IoT), remote sensing, and embedded systems can be applied to various environmental issues, such as air and water pollution, climate change, and ecosystem and biodiversity degradation. This article summarizes the main applications, methods, technologies, and challenges of AI-embedded systems with a view to their potential uses for achieving sustainable environmental management in the world.
