Exploratory Review Across Disciplines
摘要
This chapter offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary review of XR applications in fashion retail, highlighting the convergence of design, technology, and consumer experience. Drawing from seven key disciplinary domains—Fashion Design, Retail Design, Interaction Design, Consumer Behavior, Business, Computer Science, and Psychology—the chapter maps the evolving research landscape and identifies synergies among diverse theoretical and methodological approaches. XR technologies, including AR, VR, and metaverse platforms, are shown to transform traditional shopping into multisensory, symbolic, and personalized experiences, enhancing customer engagement and brand interaction. Each discipline contributes unique insights: from the aesthetic and narrative dimensions of virtual fashion (Fashion Design) to the strategic and technological foundations enabling immersive retail (Business and Computer Science). The chapter also emphasizes the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral factors that influence XR adoption, underlining the importance of interaction design and psychological engagement. Despite promising developments, the literature remains fragmented, often lacking empirical validation and integration across domains. This review advocates for a systemic, interdisciplinary framework to guide the design, evaluation, and ethical deployment of immersive retail experiences. Ultimately, the chapter positions XR as a strategic frontier for innovation, requiring collaboration between creative, technical, and behavioral sciences to shape the future of fashion commerce.
