Sustainable mobility transition represents a challenging task for public administrations worldwide, requiring both effective policy design and substantial behavioral changes at the individual level. In this direction, growing attention has been paid to nudging and rewarding systems to foster widespread engagement and modal shifts. Digital applications, in particular, offer promising tool to define tailored incentives and challenges to enhance citizens participation. Beyond behavioral influence, these applications also address the critical need for mobility data, enabling local authorities to develop targeted, data-driven demand models for improved service planning. The study explores the potential of gamified smartphone applications that collect mobility data while promoting sustainable behaviors through green and digital nudging applying behavioral economics. By analyzing existing smartphone applications that implement nudging and reward mechanisms, this research identifies key functionalities and features that can be integrated into the GreenGo Project. This initiative aims to support public administrations in mobility data collection while encouraging sustainable transportation choices among users. The findings contribute to the development of effective digital tools to address sustainable urban mobility challenges and goals.
