With the widespread application of 3D technology, Blender based 3D design courses have become a topic of concern and importance for more and more educational institutions. However, there is currently a lack of systematic research and exploration on this course in China. This article aims to delve into the implementation of Blender based 3D design courses, study its advantages and limitations, and explore how to better apply it to the field of education. Firstly, this article summarizes and sorts out the implementation content of Blender based 3D design courses, including basic object modeling, material mapping, animation production, etc. Then, this article analyzes the application advantages of the course, including advanced technology, easy to learn, intuitive and vivid, and elaborates on the limitations of the course, such as high software configuration requirements and high technical barriers. Most importantly, this article also proposes relevant strategies and suggestions for teaching implementation, including prioritizing the selection of appropriate teaching resources, flexible teaching of technical methods, and emphasizing students’ practical operations. Practice has shown that the teaching implementation of Blender based 3D design courses depends on the teacher's level and instructional design, so it is necessary to tailor it to students’ learning willingness and learning situation. Therefore, the successful implementation of this course not only depends on teaching resources and equipment, but also requires a high-level teaching team and continuous innovation in teaching models. In the future, we need to further deepen our research on Blender based 3D design courses, expand their educational application fields, improve educational quality, and promote the modernization of education construction.
