Donkey ophthalmology is a new branch of veterinary ophthalmology, born in very recent years. Up until a few years ago, donkeys were believed to suffer from the same diseases of horses and, for this reason, were treated similarly. However, in very recent years, donkey ophthalmology emerged as a proper field focused on the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions in donkeys. This chapter reports the most recent scientific information regarding the diseases and treatments of the donkey and mule’s eye, enriched by the personal experiences of the authors.
