With the strong development of civil aviation, the number of flights operating on airways and airspaces around the world is at risk of causing alarm when flight traffic is dense, leading to overload on the airways and putting direct pressure on ATCs during flight operations. According to a 2023 report by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Vietnam’s passenger traffic in 2023 recovered to the same level as before COVID-19, driven by a sharp increase in domestic passenger demand. With this rapid growth, many airways in Vietnam’s airspace in general and the Ho Chi Minh Flight Information Region (FIR) in particular have shown signs of overload, especially under adverse weather conditions. Therefore, it is urgent to formulate a solution to this problem, and one of the measures is to develop a program to optimize the airway network. In this paper, the author’s team will present the method of optimizing the airway network using the A* algorithm applied in the Ho Chi Minh FIR. This can be considered one of the first steps in the plan to optimize the entire Vietnamese airspace.

摘要
