A Review of Criteria for Green Airports

The goal of this study was to explore and consolidate the diverse standards and benchmarks that define what constitutes a green airport. The research aimed to compile and analyze the existing criteria and standards for green airports and to evaluate their effectiveness in mitigating environmental impacts. The selection of sources and studies was based on well-defined criteria, ensuring the most relevant and current insights into sustainable airport practices were included. Sustainability certifications were compared across different indicators using key points. Case studies on efforts to make airports more environmentally friendly were comprehensively reviewed. The challenges and opportunities related to the implementation of green airports were thoroughly discussed. Also, adapting global green standards to Vietnam’s airports was discussed. This research is aimed to serve as a valuable reference for the practical design of green airports.
