This chapter discusses the potential role of routine non-gated chest computed tomography (CT) in the diagnosis and management of cardiac valve abnormalities. We focused on the aortic valve, mitral valve, mitral annular calcification, tricuspid regurgitation, and pulmonary stenosis. We also reviewed cases of mitral valve prolapse and infective endocarditis, which can sometimes be discovered incidentally on routine non-cardiac contrast-enhanced chest CT.

摘要

This chapter discusses the potential role of routine non-gated chest computed tomography (CT) in the diagnosis and management of cardiac valve abnormalities. We focused on the aortic valve, mitral valve, mitral annular calcification, tricuspid regurgitation, and pulmonary stenosis. We also reviewed cases of mitral valve prolapse and infective endocarditis, which can sometimes be discovered incidentally on routine non-cardiac contrast-enhanced chest CT.
