The conclusion drawn in the previous chapter clearly calls for actions to promote the good use of AI in favour of humankind and society’s common good. This chapter analyses the role of international organizations and their declarations, the role of the State and its regulations, the role of AI corporations themselves and their codes of ethics, as well as the means and hurdles for AI accountability regarding its effects. Like its predecessors, the chapter starts by introducing Aristotle’s thoughts on the role played by the State (the polis) to promote human beings’ and society’s welfare.
