Given the current and future relevance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its advantages and challenges, this book argues that it is necessary to take a philosophical look at it and its development. To that end, it adopts a classical philosophical approach, taking into account that Aristotle’s views and classical thinking—metaphysics, the theory of knowledge, ethics—provide clear insights into contemporary problems. This approach includes strong conceptual tools to analyse the nature of AI, its traits, possibilities, and limitations, as well as its place in human life and society. This Introduction briefly describes the contents and conclusions of every chapter.
