Numerical Simulation of Single Veneer and Veneer as Composite
摘要
This study investigates the hygromechanical behavior of veneer when utilized as a composite structural element. Veneer, widely applied in architecture and construction, exhibits complex mechanical responses due to its anisotropic nature and production-induced defects. A detailed examination of single-veneer behavior, particularly the effects of the peeling process on its mechanical integrity, provides foundational insight. Building on this, the mechanical performance of veneer in composite assemblies is analyzed, highlighting its potential in lightweight, sustainable construction systems. Experimental tests reveal significant correlations between moisture variation and mechanical response, underlining the critical role of hygrothermal factors in veneer-based composites.
