Mexican History of Protected Areas
摘要
An in-depth exploration of the development of protected areas in Mexico, examining the historical, political, and institutional factors that shaped their establishment and evolution. This chapter highlights how these areas became a cornerstone of the country’s conservation strategy. Through documentary review and data analysis by Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the geographic distribution of protected areas is mapped to contextualise with ecological characteristics (orography, demography, ecosystems, and biodiversity), but also with historical and social development.
