It is important to understand that the procedure to predict wave attenuation described in Chap. 15 is limited to monochromatic waves propagating over rigid vegetation stems on flat bathymetry. Evidently, these idealized conditions may not always apply in the real world. In this chapter, we will explore a few additional topics pertaining to wave attenuation under more varied wave, bathymetric, and vegetation conditions with a focus on the following: (1) attenuation of shallow-water regular waves via rigid vegetation on sloping bathymetry, (2) attenuation of irregular waves via rigid vegetation on flat bathymetry, and (3) attenuation of regular waves via non-rigid vegetation on flat bathymetry.

摘要
