This research attempted to classify 15 types of gestures to communicate between normal people and deaf-mute individuals by implementing an Android-based gesture recognition system. The gesture recognition system was developed using an ESP32 microcontroller, flex sensor, MPU 6050 accelerometer, and Android application. The performance of the Android-based gesture recognition system as developed in this study was able to achieve an average accuracy (ACC) of 90.80% when evaluated with deaf-mute individuals.

摘要

This research attempted to classify 15 types of gestures to communicate between normal people and deaf-mute individuals by implementing an Android-based gesture recognition system. The gesture recognition system was developed using an ESP32 microcontroller, flex sensor, MPU 6050 accelerometer, and Android application. The performance of the Android-based gesture recognition system as developed in this study was able to achieve an average accuracy (ACC) of 90.80% when evaluated with deaf-mute individuals.
