A number of unusual methods of esophageal resection using the stomach transposed into the thoracic cavity both on the right and left sides, as well as to the neck, are presented. Rarely used techniques for creating an esophageal substitute from the stomach and performing esophagogastric anastomosis are analyzed, along with other technical aspects of esophageal reconstruction.
