This paper introduces a new approach to designing compact, wideband circularly polarized (CP) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas. The key innovation enabling the compact design is the construction of an 8-port MIMO array using only four dual-feed radiating elements, which generate both right-hand (RHCP) and left-hand (LHCP) circular polarizations. This represents a significant reduction compared to conventional eight-element designs and is achieved by closely arranging the radiators and effectively decoupling them with shorting vias. Simulated results verify effectiveness of the proposed method, demonstrating a 10-dB isolation bandwidth of 16.2% (5.1−6.0 GHz). With its compact physical dimensions of 0.93λ × 0.93λ × 0.06λ (at 5.1 GHz), the proposed antenna is well-suited for integration into advanced C-band multi-port MIMO communication systems.
