Social media’s business model, driven by the attention economy, structurally favors the spread of disinformation. Algorithms designed to maximize user engagement automatically amplify sensational and emotionally charged content, which allows falsehoods to travel faster and wider than truth. This technological environment exploits basic human psychology, encouraging rapid, intuitive thinking over careful analysis and making users vulnerable to cognitive biases. The sharing of false information is often a habitual act tied to social identity, making it resistant to correction. More specifically, medical disinformation, such as anti-vaccination narratives, exemplifies this problem by using compelling emotional stories to override scientific data. Instead of simply fact-checking, a more effective solution is to build public resilience through “psychological inoculation.” This proactive approach involves teaching people to recognize common manipulation tactics, thereby equipping them to resist false narratives before they take hold.

摘要
