The increasing problem of public space harassment requires advanced technological solutions that make women feel safe enough to take personal protection measures against potential dangers. This concept provides an IoT-enabled wearable device where women can prep a reaction towards the dangers. A simple push of the button initiates an emergency response, with real-time tracking and coordination enabled by the immediate sending of geolocation to pre-registered emergency contacts. Furthermore, it will also trigger automatic calls to such contacts or to emergency services so that there is immediate direct communication and information of value about the situation. This seamless integration of the real-time capability of GPS and GSM in this device for immediate communication and accurate location tracking forms a powerful emergency support system. Moreover, the electric shock function-for self-defense-is also optionally available with the device to dissuade potential attackers. With this kind of ingenious integration of defense capability and communication technology, users are in a better position to handle personal safety with immediate dissuasion in dangerous situations. This project will be one of the best examples of an innovative use of already existing technologies to mitigate harassment/assault risks using the IoT while developing wearable, responsive safety gear that could contribute to providing women with a feeling of safety in public. The technical architecture, operational dependability, and possible social impact of the device in enabling women to confidently and controllably navigate public space will also be discussed further in this study.

摘要
