A DGS-DMS Tri-Band Antenna for C-Band IoT Applications
摘要
To achieve efficient wireless communication in the growing smart device scenario, the antenna serves as the front-end device. Smart devices, which have a significant demand, are now connected through a cloud-based network known as the Internet of Things (IoT). To satisfy the communication requirements, a tri-band antenna is designed that covers the IoT operating band and the design details are discussed in this paper. The tri-band resonance covers the C-band applications. In the design, the tri-band performance is achieved by incorporating slots into the microstrip radiating and ground structures. Multiple slots are etched from the patch. In the ground plane, three disconnected rectangular loops are structured. The tri-band resonances are obtained for a size of 30 × 35 mm2 at 5.9 GHz, 6.6 GHz, and 7.5 GHz. The peak gains obtained are 4 dBi, 4.9 dBi, and 3.7 dBi at the resonant frequencies in C-band. The directivities noted are 3.5 dBi, 4.5 dBi, and 3.6 dBi. The design has impressive radiation characteristics, making it suitable for C Band and IoT applications.
