The conference was sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Bonn, Germany. It was a hybrid conference, with the physical part of it taking place at the Centre for Distance Learning, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. Several other people from such locations as Germany, USA, Britain, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Togo, Ghana and different parts of Nigeria participated in the conference online.
