Innovative Design Technology (IDT) is provided in its original, yet modernized form. It's three parts, viz. Informational, Analytical, and Conceptual are detailed. The last two parts are treated as bundled because of their intricate relationship, two-way feedback loop, and iterative nature. As it is obvious, the Conceptual Directions outputted by IDT constitute the usable, productive portion of the latter. A real case study involving manufacturing of powder from raw potatoes is given. The selected Conceptual Directions, as a whole, serve as one of two inputs to Value Engineering (VE). This way, IDT is a primer to VE.
