Training Students as AI Ambassadors: Explaining Artificial Intelligence Through Case-Based Learning
摘要
Recent surveys indicate that 58% of university students perceive themselves as lacking sufficient knowledge and skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), reflecting persistent gaps in both technical literacy and the communication abilities required to convey complex concepts effectively. This workshop was designed to address these gaps by training students and professionals as “AI Ambassadors” through a design-thinking-informed mini course and case-based learning (CBL). Participants engaged with real-world AI applications in education, healthcare, entertainment, and the workplace, and subsequently practiced translating these cases into accessible explanations for diverse audiences. The workshop pursued four objectives: strengthening conceptual understanding of AI, analyzing the societal impact of authentic cases, fostering the ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly, and enhancing debate and discussion skills. Qualitative feedback suggests that participants developed greater confidence and clarity in AI communication, demonstrating that the integration of CBL with structured communication practice can transform AI literacy into actionable skills for public engagement.
