Legal Implications of Green Building Initiatives in the Context of Climate Change and Sustainable Development Goals
摘要
The future of the planet is clouded by climate change, which puts the environmental resources in jeopardy. Surprisingly, buildings are important contributors to this looming issue, consuming energy and emitting greenhouse gases. However, there is a ray of hope by way of implementing construction activities sustainably. This study digs into the legal implications of implementing these potent solutions, paving the road for a greener future in line with the SDGs. As sustainable construction gains traction around the world, it is critical to examine the legal frameworks that govern it. This study dissects both national and international legislation that influence the certification and enforcement of construction works. It dissects the rich fabric of zoning regulations and environmental requirements that shape their legal landscape. However, legal integration is more than just laws and regulations. This pertains to the management of potential hazards and obligations encountered by individuals engaged in construction activities. To ensure the success of these critical endeavors, this research addresses liability concerns and investigates issues concerning dispute resolution processes. It seeks to facilitate smooth integration with current frameworks for sustainable construction by demystifying the legal concerns of green building. This paper aims to make it easier for green building projects to fit into current legal systems involved in sustainable construction by critically analyzing the available literature.
