Conclusion: Healing Paths: Well-being, Religion, and the Future
摘要
The final chapter synthesises the book’s key themes and theoretical advancements, critically examining the intersections of spirituality and cultural identity in healing practices among Afro-Surinamese and Ghanaian communities in the Netherlands. It highlights how these dimensions challenge dominant biomedical paradigms and advocates a more inclusive and decolonised approach to health and well-being. By engaging with religious and transnational healing networks, the chapter underscores the need to recognise diverse epistemologies in global health discourse. Moving beyond borders, whether national, religious, or systemic. Through a reflexive and critical lens, this chapter calls for the reimagining of healthcare frameworks that integrate indigenous, religious and diasporic healing practices, contributing to a broader theoretical understanding of health justice and epistemic diversity.
