This mixed-methods study used an intersectional feminist lens to explore the factors that contribute to the empowerment of Bedouin women through education in Israel. Traditionally shaped by a patriarchal social structure, Bedouin society has historically restricted women’s mobility and access to higher education. In recent decades, however, there has been an increase in the percentage of Bedouin women in institutions of higher education. The research investigated the personal and professional advancement of Bedouin women, drawing on data collected from 47 students and lecturers at a college of education. The study employed semi-structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews with 15 participants. Three key themes were constructed from the analysis: (1) the importance of Hebrew language proficiency for academic achievement; (2) the critical role of personal resilience in navigating socio-cultural and institutional barriers; and (3) the transformative impact of higher education on both personal and professional development. The findings highlight the need for systemic intervention in Bedouin educational settings. This includes early reinforcement of Hebrew language acquisition in elementary school, development of programs to foster psychological resilience, and creation of accessible and culturally sensitive pathways to higher education that support women's empowerment.

摘要
