In addition to international rules and regulations, the majority of nations have their legal frameworks to deal with terrorism and human trafficking. The interexchange of offenders across nations is crucial for a fair trial and justice because these illegal operations typically involve numerous nations. However, the administration of adequate justice and the prevention of such unlawful activities are hampered when the laws of a given nation are not sanctioned because of poor international relations or an attempt to shield the offender. This chapter addressed the potential and constraints of existing legal systems in addressing these illicit acts, as well as the legal assistance that victims can access. Various international laws and conventions like the Palermo Protocol, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the ILO Convention, the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, and human rights law are discussed. Legal aid for the victims of human trafficking and terrorism is explained in the chapter. There is much scope related to the studies of the effectiveness of these measures. There is a need for a robust measurement of terrorism-related outcomes to better assess both the potential benefits and harms.
