Philosophical Practices Within University Settings: Mapping the Global Landscape of Theory, Practice, and Education
摘要
The aim of this chapter is to document philosophical practices across universities worldwide. These practices have been classified into two groups. The first category considers teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, professional specialization, design and development of basic and applied research, as well as dissemination activities, university outreach, and continuing education programs. The second group is concerned with the practice of philosophical counseling and philosophy for/with children and youths worldwide and consists of four subsections: the first is dedicated to English-speaking countries, mainly North America and the United Kingdom; the second investigates European universities in general; the third addresses the situation in Asia, especially East Asia and India; and the last presents the relationship between philosophical practices and the universities in Ibero-America.
