Every consulting provider should carefully analyze the own service portfolio in order to identify potential for digital transformation, i.e., the virtualization of consulting services through the use of digital technologies. A key motivation is the desire to achieve greater scalability in the traditionally poorly scalable business model of management consulting. In this paper, a method for determining the virtualization potential of traditional consulting services is developed in a series of design cycles and evaluations. This structured and practically tested approach helps consulting companies in analyzing their own service portfolio in order to identify areas where virtualization can have significant benefits. Thereby consulting management is supported in a difficult task of strategic relevance.

摘要
