Disaster Reduction and Rehabilitation Policies
摘要
This chapter addresses disaster risk reduction and rehabilitation policies in the Central Himalayan region. The Himalaya is highly prone to natural disasters due to its fragile geology and complex environmental conditions. The chapter discusses strategies for reducing disaster risks through planning, preparedness, and mitigation measures. Existing policy frameworks related to disaster management and rehabilitation are reviewed and analyzed. Emphasis is placed on post-disaster rehabilitation and long-term recovery of affected communities. The role of institutional support and governance in effective rehabilitation is highlighted. Sustainable reconstruction and livelihood restoration are identified as key priorities. The chapter underscores the need for region-specific disaster risk and rehabilitation policies in the Central Himalaya.
