The object of research is experimental laboratory study of water hammer in typical pipelines for drinking and household water supply systems. Currently, there are no mandatory requirements for study of water hammer in drinking and household water supply systems. As a result, accidents in such systems occur regularly. The article presents an experimental study of water hammer in a polypropylene pipeline with a diameter typical for a drinking water supply system of an apartment building. Method of study is laboratory experiment. As an addition, numerical experiment was performed for experiment validation. As a result, of the study, it was determined that the peak value of water hammer pressure during experiment exceeds the theoretical value by 13.2%, and also it exceeds the calculated value by 7.74%. This indicates a more conservative estimate of the water hammer value in experimental studies compared to calculated ones. This should be taken into account when designing a water supply system.

摘要
