AI Literacy in Support of Information Creativity of Doctoral Students

The paper is aimed at exploration of AI literacy in relation to information creativity in digital environenment. The research question is: In which ways can AI tools enhance academic information creativity? Main concepts of AI literacy and information creativity are analysed alongside selected related studies on information creativity and AI in the academic environment. The concepts of co-creativity and information creativity framework are considered. AI literacy is explained as a multidimensional concept based on understanding of concepts, tools, prompt engineering, creation, interpretations, revisions, bias assessment, cognitive, collaborative, social and ethical contexts. We report on results of qualitative surveys among 17 doctoral and 8 master students in humanities and social sciences using online focus group, essays and experiments. We proposed a final conceptual model of AI literacy and co-creativity. AI literacy is enhanced by inspiration, exploration, combinations, transformations in creative information ecologies. Recommendations for AI literacy courses and information design are proposed.
