We review case studies of galactic ecosystems that have been found to contain rich assortments of molecules. From small molecular clouds to increasingly larger HII regions and starbursts, these GEs include the Corona Australis Molecular Cloud, the Rho Ophiuchi Molecular Cloud, the Orion Nebula Bar, the Heart and Soul Nebulae, and the starburst galaxy M82.
