Our stage is set for exploring galactic ecosystems within the context of the Milky Way galaxy—and beyond—to other star-forming galaxies in the greater Cosmos. Considerable attention is paid to light (electromagnetic radiation) as the key messenger from the nebular matter and newborn stars that comprise the galactic ecosystems.
