Neck and Upper Extremity
摘要
Osteoarthritis of the upper extremity, trapezius muscle pain, and also tendinous conditions especially at the wrist are among the most common musculoskeletal complaints: these conditions frequently arise from postural overload, prolonged desk or screen work, repetitive upper-body activity, and stress-induced muscle tension. The pathophysiology reflects a combination of microtrauma within muscle fibers, accumulation of metabolic by-products, localized inflammation, sympathetic overactivation, and heightened nociceptive signaling that reinforces chronic neuromuscular tension. Dochu introduces a new therapeutic avenue by directly addressing the vascular and neurogenic drivers that often maintain symptoms. By treating inflamed arterial branches supplying the joints, muscles, and tendons of the upper extremity, temporary embolization can lessen abnormal hypervascularity, reduce nociceptive input, and influence the local inflammatory environment. This focused approach may ease chronic muscle tightness, enhance cervical mobility, and support functional recovery. As such, Dochu serves as an innovative and accessible tool in contemporary pain management, integrating biomechanical understanding with emerging interventional techniques.
