Coastal wetlands are rich in life and provide vital homes for many waterbirds, including some that travel long distances and are rare worldwide. Here, we discuss the successes, existing problems, and future approaches in safeguarding waterbirds in fragile ecosystems. Over the years, great work has been done thanks to setting up protected areas, international agreements, and community efforts. Still, there are many threats to these birds such as reducing habitats, pollution, rising climate, human effect, and the arrival of new invasive species. Because of these impacts, various species have declined and wetlands vital to the environment have deteriorated. Following strategies like habitat restoration, responsible land use, long-term ecological monitoring, including the public, and working with other nations are suggested in this chapter to address these problems. It is important that research, policies, and community efforts cooperate to protect waterbirds and coastal wetlands for many years ahead. The discovery aims to guide action in conservation and join efforts on a local, national, and global basis.
