Feminist Theories of Family Violence
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of feminist approaches to gender-based violence with an emphasis on intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Feminism is explored as both a social movement and a variety of theory which focuses on the origins of inequality and proposed solutions to the problem. Central to the persistence of this inequality is the utilization of physical, sexual, and psychological violence. This chapter connects historical moments in the feminist movement to useful frameworks emerging from distinct varieties of feminist theory, notable among them liberal, radical, and intersectional feminism. It highlights the most prominent feminist theoretical concepts for understanding, documenting, and preventing gender-based violence.
