Numerical Analysis of Railway Passengers’ Injuries in Frontal Impact Scenarios
摘要
In many countries, rail transport is an integral part of a logistics strategy for promoting trade and economic growth. It is also considered the best option compared to road transport in terms of energy efficiency, land use, environmental impact, and safety. Research on the crash resistance of scale models and partial and total numerical simulations of railway vehicles has increased, as these studies provide the necessary information to protect occupants and thus reduce injuries and loss of human life in the event of a collision. In this research, a numerical analysis of the impact of MP68-type railroad cars will be conducted, enabling us to understand the structural behavior resulting from the deformations, displacements, and stresses generated during the impact. The outcomes showed the kinematics of the occupants and the degree of injury index in the passengers to which it was subjected during a frontal impact.
