Psychological Issues of the Relationship Between Students’ Academic Achievement and Self-Esteem in a Continuing Education Environment
摘要
The study aimed to investigate the relationship between academic achievements and a sense of personal dignity against the background of the emergence of new values in the continuing education environment. It is known that despite the increase in academic achievements in the continuing education environment, the development of a sense of personal dignity, especially self-esteem and self-confidence, in students remains neglected. In this regard, the study we conducted showed that a sense of personal dignity, especially self-esteem, plays an important role in providing the opportunity to effectively demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities. The facts show that excessive or negative self-esteem creates the basis for the emergence of certain psychological problems for students. The study we conducted showed that there is a correlative relationship between the demands and a sense of personal dignity, including a sense of self-esteem, and academic achievements and values, and this relationship is positively significant. The study showed that regardless of gender and economic status, the correlation between self-esteem and academic achievements is of a tendency nature. This fact confirms that when academic achievement and other values exist together, the necessary results can be obtained, and their correlation in isolation does not yield the desired results.
