Evaluating Macroeconomic Proportionality in the Industrial Sector by Economic Regions: The Case of Azerbaijan
摘要
The purpose of the study is to analyze the macroeconomic proportions of the industrial sector in the economic regions of Azerbaijan. Following the research questions, proportional analysis of total production and industrial production in the economic regions of Azerbaijan was conducted in the exploratory study. The methodological design is based on the coefficient method for measuring proportionality proposed by the author. The result shows the disproportionality in total production and industrial production in the economic regions of Azerbaijan. Thus, a sharp difference was observed between the industrial production of Baku and other economic regions. There may be a number of reasons for this, such as high bank interest rates in the regions, financial flows not going to the real sector, inefficient use of resources, etc., which could serve as a topic for discussion in future research. The results of the study can be valuable in terms of preparing strategic planning characterizing the long-term development of the country’s economy and formulating future research directions.
