Application of Thermal Glass Roof Structure:A Case Study of North Cyprus
摘要
This report examines glass manufacturing processes and types of glass, focusing on their application in green roof glass production. The goal is to determine the best glass for green roofs in various climates and weather conditions. There are single, double, and thermal glass varieties, but this report emphasises the latter three. Additionally, it explores how heat transfers through windows via convection, conduction, and radiation. Transmission and reflection property measurements were taken, and energetic and luminous parameters calculated, including light transmittance, solar factor, and thermal transmittance. Values slightly over 1 W/m2K were obtained across samples. Multi-year outdoor measurements track the thermal properties of glass over long-term solar exposure, demonstrating the seasonal impacts on transmission. Solar transmittance is also assessed at each hour over different outdoor duration scales. Thermal panes exhibit specific solar radiation characteristics regarding transmission as sunlight interacts with their surfaces. A full view of thermal glass is provided.
