Artificial intelligence (AI) is a powerful tool that transforms library and information activities offering new opportunities for personalized services and efficient information management. AI-based technologies, such as chatbots and autonomous data management, enable significant improvements and personalization in the learning process and in serving users in library institutions. The paper presents the results of a survey on the application of artificial intelligence in education and in library and information activities and services. The objectives of the survey are to: This research was conducted as part of the activities of the research project “Libraries – Learning – Artificial Intelligence: Symbiosis Possibilities”, approved for funding in a Competition for funding fundamental scientific research – 2024, funded by the Bulgarian Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science. The main goal of the project is to conduct a systematic study of the issues related to libraries, learning and artificial intelligence – both in Bulgaria and globally – in order to generate new scientific knowledge. This knowledge will be consolidated and presented in publicly accessible online information databases made available through the project’s website.
