This chapter examines the roots of racism that underlie the discipline of Romani Studies, as a result of its origins within Victorian Gypsylorism. The text concludes with an analysis of the steps necessary to decolonize Romani Studies, based upon the earlier work of Marsh, Hancock, and other Romani Studies scholars.
