Within ICTD research, the agriculture sector has received significant attention from the scholarship. ICTs have played a crucial role in improving agricultural practices. However, the agriculture sector in a developing country still lacks in utilizing the full potential of ICTs. A developing country like India has an asymmetrical information dominance in the agricultural sector. Farmers, despite being the primary producers, still have less access to information than multiple intermediaries. In this short conceptual paper, we are trying to comprehend the literature concerning information asymmetry and the principal-agent problem through the lens of the information systems (IS) domain. This study aims to establish a research inquiry concerning information asymmetry and the principal-agent problem.

摘要
