This chapter discusses the thoughts of authors from the nineteenth century about Africa. The idea is demonstrated by how these authors modeled and invented a tradition of an Africa without history, which enabled the production of discussions and colonial practices. Moreover, this chapter will propose that the study of African authors is very important for rewriting the history of Africa.

This chapter discusses the thoughts of authors from the nineteenth century about Africa.
