With the development and progress of society, the demand for talents in today’s society is more and more comprehensive and diversified. With the rapid development of knowledge economy, the architectural design of China has developed rapidly. According to statistics, more than 300 colleges and universities across the country have opened environmental art design majors. This paper will discuss how to take environmental art design major design drawing as an example, take design drawing as a basic course and innovate the teaching mode of design drawing in such an environment. The research shows that the single teaching method, means and content can no longer meet the needs of students learning cartography. Only by making full use of modern teaching techniques such as various teaching resources and methods can students be guided to carry out autonomous and exploratory learning. Change the innovative experimental teaching mode and construct a new experimental teaching mode, so as to give full play to the intuitive, practical, comprehensive and innovative characteristics of experimental teaching and enhance students’ innovative, practical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
