Introduction to Remote Sensing and GIS in Mangrove Monitoring and Management
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of the role of hyperspectral, multispectral, and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data in mangrove species identification, discusses methodological frameworks for achieving reliable classification results, and presents case studies demonstrating their practical application in real-world mangrove conservation and restoration efforts. This chapter will also provide the state-of-the-art techniques in mangrove management through sensors installed on various platforms such as ground, airborne to spaceborne and geospatial technology. The chapter further incorporates case studies that illustrate the practical application of these methods in conservation and restoration contexts, thereby demonstrating their relevance to real-world management challenges.
