Resilience of SMEs in Nigeria to Cyber Threats
摘要
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a crucial role in any country’s economy, contributing significantly to employment and GDP. However, in recent times, they are increasingly being targeted by cyber criminals due to their perceived vulnerabilities and limited resources. This study examines the resilience of SMEs in Nigeria to cyber threats, with a particular focus on management strategies and cybersecurity practices. It identifies common cyber threats to SMEs, assesses their impacts on business operations, and explores viable mitigation strategies. The findings reveal that, while SMEs are aware of cybersecurity risks, there is a significant gap between awareness and preparedness. The study concludes with recommendations for improving cybersecurity resilience among SMEs, including increased investment in cybersecurity, employee training, and government support.
