Drawing and Painting
摘要
This chapter begins by acknowledging the wide range of texts on using artwork, such as drawing and painting, in therapy. There is then a focus on how artwork in therapy can alleviate emotional and psychological distress by facilitating inner discovery and self-expression of unresolved issues, bringing about constructive change for the client. The first case study focuses on using artwork in combination with Inner-Child work to help alleviate the effects of neglect and abuse. The second case study focuses on using artwork in clinical supervision and addressing a critical Internal supervisor who had a negative impact on the therapist’s self-confidence. The chapter then moves on to how this creative method can be applied across various clinical contexts, including face-to-face, online, and group therapy, as well as individual and group clinical supervision.
