摘要

Net-Zero Energy Communities are emerging as scalable solutions for achieving environmental sustainability beyond individual buildings. The aim is to balance energy consumption with on-site or nearby renewable energy generation at the community level, integrating technologies like solar, wind, and geothermal energy. This chapter explores the status of presents international case studies, challenges, and pathways to future research. Certain barriers in adapting Net-Zero Energy Communities are changing the entire system, investment costs, and societal resistance. To foster decentralized, resilient, and inclusive energy systems in the future, the upcoming trends indicate potential of peer-to-peer energy trading, community microgrids, and social innovation.
