Conclusion: Beyond Access—Toward Ethical, Inclusive, and Locally Grounded Digital Transformation
摘要
The final chapter concludes the various contributions made throughout the book by synthesizing the major aspects of the arguments and findings presented throughout, bringing forth the views of education, communication and governance to ponder over the changing digital landscape in higher education. It highlights the significance of contextualized strategies to digital transformation; strategies that take into account the plurality of institutional strengths, cultural systems and epistemic traditions in different regions. The chapter reveals similar themes present across the volume: the educational possibilities of AI and online platforms, the ethical and equity issues of technological implementation, and the necessity to continue balancing innovation and inclusivity. It proposes the need to be more collaborative in efforts to develop evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and socially equitable digital education systems among educators, policymakers, and technologists. Lastly, the conclusion reiterates the main contribution of the volume, as in giving a Global South-based lens through which the digitalization is transforming not only teaching and learning, but also the very concept of what knowledge, authority and participation in the twenty-first century university is.
